New Mounting Kits Available For Ace Controls Gate Gas Springs

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Used successfully in many applications, the range of gate gas springs from automation control equipment manufacturer, Ace Controls International is a cost effective way to safely control the opening and closing of gates.

However, with strong sales more and more users were requesting mounting information, particularly the requirement for suitable mounting brackets

Ace is therefore, now introducing two mounting kits – MKU-19 and MKU-22 – to go with their two gate gas springs. Each kits comprises a gate force adjuster tool, two alternative mounting brackets and a gas spring length adaptor, which allows the gas spring to be set to an exact length without the requirement to compress the spring.

The GSG-22 unit is suitable for gates over 750mm wide and the GSG-19 is suitable for gates under 750mm.

Used to control the opening and closing of gates in schools, parks, sports facilities and homes, often in conjunction with a security system, these gas springs provide a steady, slow and controlled opening and closing of gates.

They are supplied with a choice of closing forces- 300, 400, 500 or 800 Newtons. However, each gas spring has a gas pressure valve hidden in the stud of the body end fitting. This can be carefully vented using an adjuster knob to suit each particular application.

The body of the gate gas spring is powder-coated steel and the piston rod is ceramic coated steel. The operating fluid is nitrogen gas and oil. These units have an operating temperature range between -20°C to +80°C.

New SLAB Absorption Pads From Industrial Shock Absorber Manufacturer Ace Controls

Monday, March 15th, 2010

New SLAB Absorption Pads from industrial shock absorber manufacturer Ace Controls International give design engineers another easy option to control motion.

The new pads, available in 12 and 25mm thicknesses, are manufactured from a micro-cellular polyurethane elastomer material that has been designed to withstand tough environments. Their construction provides excellent vibration damping and shock absorbing characteristics. The SLAB material does not dissipate energy; it merely uses the energy to compress its cell structure which then returns back to its elastic state.

The correct selection of the Ace SLAB material depends upon the mass, impact velocity, propelling force and area of impact. The pads are normally supplied in sheet form but they can easily be shaped, punched and assembled using readily available adhesives.

There are six variations available:

SLABs 030, 100 and 300 are available in a green material. They have a rebound resistance between 12-20%; tensile strengths of 0.3Nmm², 0.5Nmm² and 1Nmm²; densities of 270kg/m³, 500kg/m³ and 800kg/m³ and are available in a standard sheet size of 1.5 x 5m.

SLABs 450, 600 and 720 are available in a black material. They have a rebound resistance between 50-60%; tensile strengths of 1.5Nmm², 2Nmm² and 3Nmm²; densities of 450kg/m³, 600kg/m³ and 720kg/m³ and are available in standard sheet sizes of 1.5 x 5m (450 and 600) and 1.5 x 3m (720).

With an operating temperature between -30ºC to +70ºC, excellent chemical resistance properties and ENV1186-3 food industry approval, applications for the SLAB material are enormous.

Ace Hydraulic Damper For A Smooth Operation

Monday, March 8th, 2010

If your elevator, automatic or sliding doors require a smooth ‘no clunk’ operation then door dampers from hydraulic damper manufacturer, Ace Controls International are the solution.

Their new range of TD-28 single or double ended adjustable door dampers provide a smooth ‘linear deceleration’ closing in numerous applications.

With a hard chrome plated steel piston rod and a zinc plated steel outer body, the single and double ended dampers offer stroke lengths of 50, 70, 100 or 120mm. All hydraulic damper units have an operating temperature range between -20ºC to +80ºC.

Superior Corrosion Protection – Standard From Industrial Shock Absorbers Manufacturer Ace Controls

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Industrial shock absorbers manufacturer, Ace Controls International is now supplying its range of industrial shock absorbers with a standard corrosion protection that is 30% better than platinum, armoloy or nickel plate; 67% better than hard chrome and 150% better than black oxide.

Edward Abbott, Ace UK’s general manager says: “Independent laboratory salt-spray tests confirm that our new Weartec Plus coating offers superior corrosion protection to the common industry coatings used today and as part of continuous policy of product improvement, this will become standard on our M12 to M64 body diameter shock absorbers at no additional cost to our customers.”

Weartec Plus provides ideal protection on shock absorbers used in the wash down areas in the food and packaging industries as well as in harsh outdoor environments.
